Hi,

Ingrown toenails can develop for various reasons. In many people, the tendency to have this common disorder is inherited. In other cases, an ingrown toenail is the result of trauma, such as stubbing your toe, having an object fall on your toe, or engaging. Following precautions could help in avoiding Ingrown Toenails:

I once had one that I had to pull out of the side. Once I trimmed it back, it was fine. I agree that following precautions can help, including keeping it trimmed back before it gets to a place that is detrimental.

I have some problem with my nails...the nails have grown very thick in the past few months and are becoming black in color..what can be the reason?
